Hanover Supervisor Scott Wyatt Calls on Mike Reynold to resign due to Ethical Conflict
Hanover, VA – Candidate for Delegate and Hanover Supervisor Scott Wyatt calls on Mike Reynold to resign his position on the Legislative District Committee because of ethical conflict. The State Party Plan of the Republican Party of Virginia clearly addresses conflicts of interests and governs the conduct of members of the Legislative District Committtee.
“Because of his ethical conflict of interest, I call on Mike Reynold to step down from the LDC.
“Just this Monday, his employer, a large Richmond lobbying firm made a contribution of $1,409 to Chris Peace’s campaign. That very day, Reynold, on behalf of the Peace campaign, attempted to change the rules of the process to benefit Mr. Peace. This is clearly an ethical conflict.
In addition, Mr. Reynold appears to not meet the requirement of being a member in good standing of the Hanover Republican Committee which he was appointed to represent.
“Mr. Reynold needs to step down immediately and the Hanover GOP needs to provide an impartial replacement.”
